Cambridge City Hall • E. Howard Gravity Escapement Striking Tower Clock

Complete restoration of a previously electrified, scavenged, rusty, completely nonfunctional hulk. Fabrication of entire gravity escapement, 4 sets of dial gears, 4 sets of hands, more than 150 parts all together. Original paint scheme duplicated including pin striping and gilding.
Since the completion of this restoration (1995) I have had the contract for weekly winding and routine maintenance.

Saint Paul Church • E. Howard Quarter Striking Tower Clock With Angelus

Complete restoration of a previously electrified completely nonfunctional wreck - badly rusted and missing many parts. Fabrication of entire striking controller, circular fan fly brass ratchet, brass striking train gear, etc.
Since the completion of this restoration (1997) I have had the contract for weekly winding and routine maintenance.

Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME • E. Howard Striking Tower Clock

Bowdoin College requested a complete, museum quality restoration of this small striking tower clock. Owing to a previous electrification, 50 parts of the clock were missing, including the complete escapement, pendulum, time side great wheel assembly, etc. These parts were all painstakingly fabricated to vintage E. Howard standards.
Competition for this job was with another nationally known firm.

Rollins School • Seth Thomas Gravity Escapement Striking Tower Clock

The city of Lawrence requested a museum quality restoration of this clock which had been completely neglected for many years and was badly rusted, covered with pigeon droppings, and completely nonfunctional.

Salisbury East Parish Church • E. Howard Round Top Striking Tower Clock

This clock had been badly damaged: a large cast iron gear was broken into pieces, and many teeth on several brass gears were bent out of shape. Also, when the tower was reconstructed all the holes for the positioning of the weight cable pulleys were removed and locations had to be determined anew. A switching system for the electric weight winding was designed and installed. All parts were polished and lacquered.

Boott Mills, Lowell, MA • E. Howard "Flat Top" Tower Clock

This clock had been non-functional for many years. The mechanism was covered with pigeon droppings, the motion works tubes were broken, and the crutch was missing adjustment screws. Repairs were made and the original paint was gently cleaned.
Since the restoration of this clock (1992) I have had the contract for weekly winding and routine maintenance.
